One of the options I frequently recommend for moving beyond sign-up forms is Web services that allow people to log-in and use their profile and contact information on other Web sites. Facebook provides the most popular of these solutions, But just how pervasive is it? Can you count on people using it on your site?
- In December 2009, 60 million of Facebook's 350 million users were actively using Facebook Connect on third party sites each month. That's 17% of the total audience.
- In May 2010, 100 million of Facebook's 450 million users were actively actively engage with Facebook on third party sites each month. That's 22% of the total audience. (source)
- In October 2010, 150 million of Facebook's 500 million users actively engage with Facebook on third party sites each month. That's 30% of the total audience.
- So the number of people actively using Facebook on third party sites has more than doubled (60M to 150M) in the past ten months and the percent of Facebook's total audience actively using Facebook on third party sites has nearly doubled.
